The personal files of Isaac Asimov are archived in the university's Mugar Memorial Library, donated by him. Isaac Asimov married Gertrude Blugerman in July 26, 1942. They had two children, David (who was born in 1951) and Robyn Joan (who was born in 1955). After the separation, in 1973 Isaac Asimov married Janet O. Jeppson, the same year.  Milton Davidson, the scientist, decides that he has put a lot of work into making computers that help other people but they never help him.   As a result Milton decides he will use Joe to find his perfect woman and true love. Joe is an advanced computer that can speak and is capable of learning.

He starts with three billion women and by describing what he considers the perfect woman he manages to whittle it down to just over a hundred. Then without telling them he begins to have the transferred to his work one at a time so that he can met them and decide if they are the perfect woman for him. By: Elton Gahr "True Love is digital! If something can be represented in ones and zeros, then it must be by default a digital representation. So what is true love? Maybe what we are looking at can be quantified and maybe not, maybe the simple act of quantifying something as miraculous as love can be considered wrong. In the story True Love, Asimov attempts to use Milton's brain to figure out what true love would be.

The question is, should we be attempting to put an emotion into a defined boundary (. Its me again looking at true love from another point of view, the computer. Valentine's Day is the day of love, fully interconnected with the title "True Love" and what Joe looking for his master, Milton Davidson. How is the story narrated - flash-back (analepsis) or flash-forward (prolepsis)? The story is told in flashback (analepsis) as the narrator tells the story before he had found the perfect woman for his master, or will tell them things before the most important fact happen (backward in time). How long does the plot last? Find out time expressions in the text that can give you an idea about it. The plot of the text takes about two months, which is not an exact figure because it is not stated directly in the text.

We can calculate this time from the expressions of the text as: "One day we said"; "After two weeks"; " next day "; " the next morning"; " a week later"; "for weeks"; "Tomorrow is February 14, Valentine's day ". In addition, I also think that this choice is because of this character have one of the most important roles in history. What is the relationship between Milton and Joe like in the beginning of the story? How did it change towards the end? At the beginning of the story Joe and Milton are great friends, and there is great trust between the two. At this time Milton is the master, since it is he who controls the Joe, however, with the unfolding of history this role will be reversed and who takes the role of teacher will be Joe, since Milton is quite dominated by it.

At the end of the story can be seen that Joe and Milton are no longer friends, because Joe has betrayed the Milton and this is arrested. D - Plot a) What did Milton ask Joe to do? Why? Milton asks Joe that he find the ideal woman for him (his "true love") because he feels the need to live with someone, since it already has forty years and never married before. Quote from the text to prove that. With so much information Joe was becoming more like Milton, with which we can prove, for example: "Talking to you, Joe is almost like talking to another self. Our Personalities Have to Match Perfectly eat. g) During the process, Joe had to do 2 things that he wasn't supposed to do. What were hey? During the process, Joe has manipulated information from the women he had chosen and also told police about the crime committed, so that Milton was arrested, what were things they should not have happened.

Do you think the story is relevant today? I think the values contained in this story will last forever over time, and yes, the story is relevant today. E - Style 1- What is the predominant rhetorical category in the story? Justify your choice. description -narration -exposition -argumentation I think this is mainly a narrative text as it is a character who tells a story but not a great description. In addition no major arguments or expository, since it is only after something, narrating it. Decide on the writer's style. I also believe that this tone of speech may be more noticeable due to the computer the narrator of the story, as if he wished to indirectly criticize yourself, which is a joke. Identify the figures of speech in the expressions below and explain their meaning in the context.

a) Metaphor - Love needs reciprocity. We need to give our love to someone but we also need someone who loves us in return, so is a "two-way street", so, love needs an extension of the two sides, no reflection without a mirror. b) Anaphor - The author repeats some words such as "told" and "get" to emphasize the close relationship between Joe and David, to show the great communication between the two. org/wiki/True_Love_(short_story) http://www. notes4free. com/true-love-by-isaac-asimov.
