INTRODUCTION Public organizations need motivated professionals who are committed to the organization's objectives, also seeking to achieve individual objectives, in a way that respects the organizational culture so that the entire process of providing services is covered with success. Understanding that a large part of our lives are spent in our work environments, we must always seek a good working structure so that we can perform our tasks efficiently and effectively. The argument for the need for public managers to reflect and rethink organizational processes in public entities, and in the sense of adapting to the new demands and needs of public servants and users of public services, the citizen.

Thus, this article aimed to identify and analyze the variables that affect the performance of servers in the Regional Administration of the Southwest/Octagonal Sector, located in the Federal District. Historical context of the Regional Administration of the Southwest/Octogonal-RA-XXII Brasília offers citizens a more direct alternative to requesting certain services that are the responsibility of the Federal District Government and, in this way, Administrative Regions were created, which were made official through Law nº 4. In the same region, there are some public bodies, such as the Hospital das Forças Armadas and the National Institute of Meteorology – INMET; Battalion of the Military Police and Fire Department, among others. Quality of life at work In all organizations there are professionals who generate personal and organizational expectations, whether in the search for a function that offers better working conditions, or even better remuneration for their activity, hence the great importance that the organization must offer its employees, in a way that they can enjoy a good working environment, producing what the organization expects.

Maslow, develops his analyzes with the aim of understanding and explaining what manages and maintains human behavior in the performance of their work activities. This same scientist believes that the behavior of human beings is motivated by individual needs, which he tried to divide into the need for disability and growth. Deficiency needs are for security, affection and esteem, while growth needs are for self-development and self-fulfillment. The research was carried out in the form of a bibliographical research on the theme of quality of life at work, and the survey of information from secondary and primary sources, through the application of a questionnaire. As for the purposes, the research is classified as exploratory. Exploratory research aims to provide greater understanding of the phenomenon being investigated, thus allowing the researcher to more accurately delineate the problem.

According to Vergara (2006, p. “Exploratory research is carried out in an area in which there is little accumulated and systematized knowledge”.
